Seneca Street, NYS Route 16, is ready for improve-ments.
The Larkin District envisions a full roadway reconstruction project, including new sidewalks, street-scape amenities, and a new Larkin traffic circle at Seneca Street’s intersection with Smith and Fillmore Streets that joins the north and south portions of a restored and augmented Buffalo Olmsted Park and Parkway System.
The renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted planned a parkway connection through the
district to link the North and South sections of the Buffalo Olmsted Park and Parkway System. The location
of the proposed new circle is at the intersection of Smith, Seneca and Fillmore Streets.

The goal for the Larkin District is to create a healthy mix of uses and
adaptive re-uses to provide a vibrant urban environment. We plan to
develop unique, high quality, commercial, residential and retail projects in
the district. The history of our neighborhood dating back to the early
1800’s has always been one of innovation, and we aim to continue this
important tradition in the future.
